Should we use it?
As professionals should we go and use someone’s IP? If I was a dentist and all of a sudden I found a way to get free or second hand teeth parts should I start to use them on my patients? How would that patient feel knowing the teeth are second-hand. Why is it any different for Logos? Sweat, blood and tears have been shed by professional designers to create a brand for a company and now anyone can just take it? by cut n paste?

There’s a lot a people out in internet land trying to justify using it, like for jobs because the client couldn’t workout what an EPS was, but that’s their problem, not yours! If you client hasn’t got a vector logo, maybe you should aim a little higher?

I think saying to a large company.. “Hey don’t worry, I’ve got it sorted. I’ve Flogged your logo off the internet” is a BIG risk! What does that say about yor professionalism, your credibility?..honesty etc.

Acquiring a logo for non-sanctioned work is wrong and illegal. BotW have no originally approved logos from the companies who own them. And a LOT of them are really bad traces that people just upload. Best to get them from the owner. That way you get a good outline and the proper PMS colors.

It’s flat-out copyright infringement. There’s no valid excuse for it in any way, shape or form. Part of the designer’s job is to come up with original concepts, not rip off someone else’s work.
